There is no upfront cost to the organiser to add a pot. A small minimum applies per contribution to cover the payment processing fee, and each contributor covers that fee on top of their amount, so the recipient still gets the full amount the group intended to give.
No. Contribution amounts are private, nobody can see who gave what. As the organiser you can see the total collected and how many people took part, but not individual amounts.
There's no target to hit, the recipient simply gets whatever the group pools together. If the pot is empty when it's time to send, it goes out as a lovely group card full of messages, with no gift card attached.
